Working Principle of En‑masse Scraper Conveyor

During horizontal conveying of the en‑masse scraper conveyor, materials are subjected to pressure from the scraper chain in the moving direction as well as their own weight, generating internal friction among materials. This friction maintains stable state of material layers and is sufficient to overcome the external friction generated when materials move inside the machine trough. As a result, materials are conveyed in the form of a continuous integrated material flow.

For vertical lifting, materials receive pressure exerted by the scraper chain along the moving direction, creating lateral side pressure within materials and producing internal friction. Meanwhile, continuous feeding from the lower horizontal section generates successive pushing force from lower‑layer materials to upper‑layer materials. Such friction and pushing force can overcome both the external frictional resistance during material movement inside the machine trough and the self‑weight of materials, so that materials are lifted in a continuous integrated material flow.
