The tube‑chain conveyor is a continuous conveying equipment for bulk materials such as powder, small‑particle and small‑lump materials. Inside the sealed pipeline, linked chain pieces serve as the transmission component to drive materials to move along the pipeline.
During horizontal conveying, material particles receive thrust from the moving chain pieces. When the internal friction between material layers exceeds the external friction between materials and the pipe wall, materials move forward together with the chain pieces to form a stable material flow.
For vertical conveying, particles inside the pipe get upward thrust from the chain pieces. The feeding material at the bottom prevents upper‑layer materials from sliding down and generates lateral pressure, which increases the internal friction of materials. When the internal friction among materials is greater than both the external friction between materials and pipe inner wall and the self‑weight of materials, materials are conveyed upward along with the chain pieces, forming a continuous material flow.
Application Fields
The tube-chain conveyor, also known as a tubular drag-chain conveyor, operates with a chain fitted with disc scrapers moving inside a sealed pipeline. Materials are pushed forward along the pipeline by the scrapers, making it an energy-efficient, high-performance continuous conveying equipment for powders and granules.
Application fields of tube-chain conveyors:
1. Plastics Industry: PVC, PP, PE powder, ABS, PC, PP, PE granules.
2. Fine Chemicals: dyes, pigments, coatings, carbon black, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, ceramic powder, ground calcium carbonate, precipitated calcium carbonate, bentonite, molecular sieve, china clay, silica powder, activated carbon.
3. Mining: urea, ammonium chloride, ammonium bicarbonate, soda ash, solid insecticides, copper powder, copper ore powder, phosphate ore, lump phosphate, bauxite, etc.
4. Building Materials: cement, clay, yellow sand, quartz sand, clay powder, silica, lime powder, dolomite, asbestos, glass fiber, silicon dioxide, chalk powder, etc.
5. Food Industry: flour, starch, grains, milk powder, food additives, etc.

Performance features of the tube‑chain conveying system:
1. Compact structure with small footprint; capable of three‑dimensional direction change, not limited by terrain, angle and height. The fully‑enclosed pipeline prevents material contamination and dust emission.
2. Smooth conveying process with minimal internal movement among materials and low breakage rate, which preserves material quality; suitable for abrasive materials.
3. Free from system blockage; applicable for conveying materials of various forms.
4. No material segregation occurs when conveying mixed materials.
5. Large conveying capacity and low energy consumption, greatly cutting down equipment operating costs.
6. All moving parts run inside a fully‑enclosed space, safe and reliable.
7. Supports long‑distance conveying.
8. Multiple inlet and outlet ports can be flexibly arranged to satisfy process requirements.
9. Easy to realize centralized control for higher automation level.
